Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"It is located on the 7th floor of the Pavilion Mall. Since it’s inside a shopping mall, the interior is clean and the staff service is quite prompt. I think the food is suitable as an introduction to Malaysian and Thai cuisine. Given the location, it’s not particularly cheap. The portions were fairly large — the two of us ordered one plate of satay and one main dish each, and we couldn’t finish everything."
"The food was delicious, especially the Massaman Lamb Shank Curry — the meat was incredibly tender. The Serai Platter is also a great choice. However, the Hot Lemongrass Tea was a bit of a letdown as it tasted quite watered down; I wouldn't order it again. Service was a 4/5. Overall, worth visiting for the great flavors!"
"Had dinner today at Serai Pavilion. We've ordered Spaghetti Carbonara, Penne Pesto Chicken & Nasi Kerabu. The food was delicious, insane portion we got there. Great service too. But the main reason why I want to write this review is to highlight the main issue of the staff by Serai Group. There's few Serai Outlet that I've been visited. I've noticed that most of the staff on duty were foreign worker and there did not appear to be any local staff present. Please do hire more local staff as you guys were Malaysian Restaurant. Additionally, I observed that some of personal hygiene standards, particularly body odor management, need to be improved. This affected the overall dining experience and comfort level. I hope the management can look into providing better staff training, ensure higher hygiene standards, and consider maintaining a balance of local staff to improve communication and service quality."
"We took a chance and ate here without reading any reviews. Food was so good especially the satays and char kuey teow. They also offer some interesting drinks and staff were super friendly."
"Food was generally okay, kids meal was adequate but the fish and chips came with ketchup instead of tartar sauce which is peculiar. Burger came with a good sized patty. Salads were good but again the mushroom soup was on the salty side. Restaurant is always crowded but there's a good spread of items on the menu."
"Nice Malay food in the mall. Service is rather slow and inattentive though. Furnitures are so used especially the sofa sinking downwards. Be ready to wait at least 30 mins for your food."
"People who live in Klang Valley would know Serai. If you have a client or a customer who wants to try Asian and Western dishes, I recommend this restaurant. Delicious premium Malay restaurant. The service is great. They sell dessert too."
"Authentic and v nice Malaysian cuisine this is definitely the must visit if you are in KL. Heartwarming customer service reflected on kind Malaysians I encounter in my trip. And definitely won’t be my last visit many others in menu I’m keen to try out."
